reviews: Great book. My only criticism would be a lack of clarity about the campaigns (and lack of maps). It is a book if you already know about WWI and want to read about the historic events from the point of view of the soldiers on the ground....

The great thing about cumulative books is that the kids want to finish the pages for you. The primary purpose of the German regimental histories was for the veterans of the units themselves, and to maintain the traditions of units disbanded after the war. It will help you to understand the elements of work that are most intrinsically satisfying versus those that are more likely to frustrate your predominant need and are therefore dissatisfying for you. A harsher man than I might argue that the book could have been a bit tighter, more along the lines of the earlier entries in the series, but that would be a small complaint and I'm certainly not going to make it at this point.
